For Hopper ..

Beyond the east the sunrise
Beyond the west the sea
And east and west the wanderthirst
That will not let Hopper be.

It works in him like madness
To bid Hopper say goodbye
For the seas call,
and the stars call,
and, oh, the call of the sky

I know not where the white road runs
Nor what the blue hills are
But a man can have the sun for a friend
and for his guide a star

For there's no end to voyaging
When once the call is heard
For the rivers call,
and the roads call,
and, oh, the call of the bird

Beyond the long horizon lies
And there by night and day
The old ships draw to hoome again.
And the young ships sail away.

Come he may but go he must
And if men ask Toad why.
Toad may put blame on the sun.
And the stars...
And the white road,
And the Sky.

-Toad Damashay

Beautiful
I am impressed. That was lovely. Very true for some of us. You should do more.

Aoi would be very impressed with Toad's eloquence.

That is absolutely beautiful. Trust me, I'm picky about poetry. You have a lot of talent. ^^

Er..
Before you all get teary eyed I wrote that poem down on a piece of paper years ago and tucked it away into a pile of notes I had. Recently found it and can't quite tell if it was my work or something I copied. It sounds a lot like something I'd write however, which confuses me.

*blinkers, think*
Meh, don't give me credit until I'm sure it's not someone elses.

This is definitely borrowed clothes. I learned the original poem 'Wanderthirst' as a school girl in the 60s. The last lines in the original poem are 'And Come I may, but go I must, and if men ask you why, you may put the blame on the stars, the sun, the white road and the sky.'
